Notes from the "Rapid Start" Phase

Day 133 of the "Rapid Start" (Weight 107 kg, Body Fat 39.5%): Author's Diet: Breakfast (Curry Pork Multigrain Rice, 4 French Fries, Salad), Lunch (Two Sprouted Brown Rice Balls, Cold Vegetable Salad), Snacks (Fat Latte, Ice Coffee, Kelp Tea), Dinner (Half a serving each of Beef Tongue, Lamb, and Pork, Vegetable Soup, Kimchi, Lettuce).

In short, don't worry. If you stick to it, you will definitely lose weight, so let's relax and start with recording—that is, recording your food and weight.

I started the "Rapid Start" process in April 2006. For five months, from April to August, I didn't restrict my diet at all; I just recorded what I ate every day and weighed myself daily.

And the result? My weight dropped to 107 kg in five months. That is, I lost 10 kg without dieting.

Some people only need a week for the running phase, while others, like me, spend five months. In fact, for someone like me with weak willpower who can never bring myself to start losing weight, five months is necessary.

One thing to clarify is that if you already weigh 70 kg, even if you do the same five months of running as me, you won't reach 60 kg. Because I was originally a super-heavyweight person weighing 117 kg, it was only then that I lost so much weight in five months.

If you're the kind of person who's obviously overweight, and you can lose 1 kg per month, you can lose a significant amount during the running phase.

Speaking of my diet during the running phase, it was truly appalling. I feel ashamed thinking about it, but I've written it all down and can't deny it.

I'd go out for barbecue late at night, and when I felt like it, I'd go to the convenience store and buy a lot of high-calorie snacks like chocolate. I'd drink three bottles of cola or soda every day.

Even though I was already full, I would still finish the entire meal completely, leaving nothing behind. After ordering pizza delivery, I would eat a medium-sized pizza by myself, along with some fries, chicken cutlet, and apple pie. If I couldn't finish it, I would leave it on the table and eat it again when I felt less full, without wasting anything.
